Santa Barbara is a true celebrity mecca. Few, if any place, can even compare to the American Riviera’s popularity amongst the rich and famous. As numerous limo clients ask about tours of the celebrities’ homes and often have many questions about the celebs of Santa Barbara, we have collected a list of the eight most notable residents in the area. Lending his name to the beloved park Douglas Family Preserve, Oscar-winning actor Douglas has a long history in S. Barbara. He first bought his Montecito villa in 1979, but the property was put up for sale (for $29 mi.) in 2010.


The Governator and his previous wife acquired a nearly $5 million ranch in Carpinteria, CA in 2008. The 25-acre house was occupied by Arnold and his then wife for a total of three years until it was listed for sale in 2012.


Costner has long owned an equestrian mansion situated on a the edge of a bluff in Carpinteria, California. However, Costner put his Carpinteria mansion up for sale last year, asking $55 mi. for his estate.


Cleese, an award-winning screenwriter and film producer, purchased a Montecito home in 1998. The over 14-acre lot was sold for $16.5 million in 2008, an equestrian property overlooking the magnificent wine country in Santa Ynez.


The only one to actually having been born and raised in Santa Barbara, Perry certainly deserves her mentioning. And with large parts of the music video for “Teenage Dream” filmed in town, Katy Perry is a hometown girl we love to praise.


Cruise and his former wife would often vacation at their holiday house in Montecito. The nearly 10,000 sq. ft. “palace.” After their divorce, Katie Holmes got the Montecito estate as their divorced got finalized.

Last year, none other than Ellen DeGeneres decided to purchase a 6-acre Montecito mansion for approximately $7 mi. The house, which sits adjacent to Oprah Winfrey’s estate, offers unmatched ocean-views and is found within an exclusive gated community. Like an abundance of celebrities, Ellen owns a variety of houses throughout the country, and has also been a house-owner in Westlake Village.


Although not a long-time resident of the region, the Queen of Talk Shows has for long found her home in Montecito. Most recently, the region gained international media coverage when Winfrey’s home was devastated by the gruesome mudslides of January 2018. Oprah later appeared with her next-door neighbor Ellen on the Ellen Show where she elaborated on the horrific consequences the local mudslides.
